About
An estimated 40 million Americans over the age of 18 suffer with an anxiety disorder.* That breaks down to 1 out of 7 people.
Many people suffer in silence not realizing there are others who feel the same way they do.
In the fall of 2005, the Anxiety Resource Center opened its doors creating a physical place where people could come together and find SUPPORT, HOPE and INSPIRATION.
The Anxiety Resource Center, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization founded to educate the public and professional communities about anxiety disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorders.
We are not a medical facility. We are a volunteer-run resource center.
We offer seven different support groups, professionally-led presentations and creative workshops, as well as a library filled with books specific to anxiety disorders.
We’ve hosted presentations on eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, hoarding, neurofeedback, compulsive hair pulling, anxiety in children, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy.
Professionals from our community have also led creative workshops designed to help people find new ways to channel their anxious energy. We’ve held workshops on topics including meditation, knitting, needlepoint, card making, drawing and tai chi. New presentations and creative workshops are continually being offered. Please visit Workshops to see what's new.
